Hersey

The Hersey girls soccer team finished up the Pepsi Showdown this past Saturday with a hard fought 2-1 come from behind win over Oswego. With the win, we finished the tournament 4-1, and saw great competition against strong opponents in Mundelein, Loyola, Jacobs, York, and Oswego. The tournament really gave us an opportunity to see teams and styles we have never played before, which will help us as we prepare for the end of our regular season. We wish all the teams good luck for the rest of the season and congratulations to Lake Forest and Loyola for making it to the championship game.

Yesterday, the Pepsi showdown officially kicked off for the Hersey girls soccer team! We had a tough early round matchup against Mundelein and we’re able to prevail with a 3-0 win. With our win, we will face one of the toughest challenges of the season against defending Pepsi Showdown champions Loyola in the round of 16. We are excited and look forward to our match on Thursday. We have been working extremely hard throughout the season in order to prepare for the tournament. We hope to continue our strong work ethic and wish good luck to all the teams!

Nicole Gierman
Hi, this is Senior Nicole Gierman from the Hersey Girl’s Soccer Team. The Hersey girls’ soccer team is excited to play in this year’s Pepsi Soccer Showdown! We can’t wait to host Mundelein on our new turf field next Tuesday, April 10. It should be a very competitive match. We are excited to be part of the Pepsi as it provides a “playoff” like atmosphere, which will benefit us throughout our conference play as well as for the end of the season. We are hoping to take one match at a time as each opponent will provide tough competition. Good luck to all of the teams who are competing!
